The resort housing market on the Costa Blanca has returned to pre-pandemic levels.
What happened? According to the latest report of the international consulting company Coliiers, Alicante is the most popular province of Spain among foreign buyers of holiday homes. The data show that the resort real estate market on the Costa Blanca is almost back to normal, reaching pre-pandemic levels in 2020.
Figures. Foreigners conclude in Alicante 17.6% of housing deals. In Malaga, the share of foreign deals is 11.4%, in Barcelona – 8.7%, in Madrid – 7.7%, in the Canary Islands – 7.6%, Valencia – 6.3% and in the Balearic Islands – 6.2%.
Sales. In general, the beginning of 2021, according to analysts Colliers, was marked by strengthening demand for housing in Spain. The results of the first half of the year were the best for the corresponding period since 2008.
Outlook. For the year 2022, experts predict “a high probability of price stability. At the same time, in some regions, including Alicante, new buildings could rise in price by 5-10%.
